Brian Kremer is a modern day crooner-songwriter based in Austin, TX. The Austin Chronicle said of his 2015 album Echoes & Twirls, that “If Cole Porter’s songwriting were any less iconic, it’d be impossible to tell where his words end and Brian Kremer’s begin” and described his voice as a “velvety tenor breathing new life into cherished songs.”
Brian is a two-time (2017 & 2018) Austin Music Awards nominee for Best Jazz Band. He won the 2016 B. Iden Payne Award for Best Original Score for his songwriting in the musical sketch comedy “Love Me Tinder” and was also a nominee for Best Musical Performance for his role in that same production. In 2015, Brian won a spot on the Project ATX6 roster, which sent him and five other up and coming singer-songwriters to perform at NXNE in Toronto, Halifax Pop Explosion, and Austin Week in Angers, France. He has also toured nationally, performing in Dallas, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Brooklyn, Washington, D.C., and in Burlington & Middlebury, Vermont. Originally from Vermont, Brian is a former classical singer. He earned a B.M. from Berklee College of Music and a 2003 GRAMMY nomination with the Dale Warland Singers before relocating to Austin to pursue songwriting and to explore the Great American Songbook.
Brian’s original songs appear in two Austin-made independent films titled “Flocker” and “Fetish”.
The Brian Kremer Christmas Show is an annual holiday favorite among Austin fans. Brian also performs with his singing partner and fellow crooner-songwriter Lex Land in their duo-led project, The Kremer Land Swing Band. His quintet can often be heard at Austin's East Side jazz club Stay Gold, and he croons solo every Tuesday night at the historic Driskill Hotel Bar in downtown Austin. Brian can also be found sitting in to sing a standard or two on friends' gigs at Lambert's and The Elephant Room. But perhaps his most adoring audience can be found at his monthly volunteer gig at A.G.E. (Austin Group for the Elderly) of Central Texas, an adult day care facility for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia, where his sincerely-crooned songs are met with sparked memories, smiles, tears, and many hugs!
